IRGC Warns Israel of Stronger Response to Aggression

A high-ranking commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning, asserting that any renewed military aggression by Israel against Iran will be met with an even more robust counterattack.

In an interview with Press TV, the IRGC commander emphasized that Iran would retaliate with double the force should Israel initiate military actions on Iranian territory.

This statement follows the IRGC's recent missile and drone strikes on occupied territories in response to an Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria. Reports suggest that over a hundred missiles and drones were launched, successfully penetrating multiple defense layers and hitting targets within the occupied lands.

Dubbed 'Operation True Promise,' this retaliatory action was launched in response to the assassination of seven Iranian military advisors in Damascus on April 1, including General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and his deputy General Hadi Haj Rahemi.

The IRGC's subsequent retaliation came after what they described as 10 days of "silence and neglect" from international organizations, notably the United Nations Security Council, failing to condemn Israeli aggression or enforce punitive measures under Article 7 of the UN Charter.

The statement also included a warning to the United States, Israel's staunchest supporter, cautioning against any involvement that harms Iran's interests, promising a decisive and regrettable response from the Iranian armed forces.

Iran's permanent mission to the United Nations justified the retaliatory action under Article 51 of the UN Charter, citing legitimate defense against the Zionist regime's aggression towards Iran's diplomatic facilities.

Additionally, Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani issued a warning to any country offering its soil or airspace for potential Israeli attacks on Iran, promising a "decisive response" in return.
